Beard Combs & Brushes

Beard combs & brushes: boar bristle, horn and bamboo tools to detangle, shape and style short or long beards, with an ergonomic grip.

The difference between a beard comb and a beard brush

The beard comb and brush has fine teeth that help to detangle the hairs without breaking them. It is perfect for a short beard or a medium-length one, as it glides easily and gets the beard ready for shaving. The comb is often made from materials such as horn or bamboo, which gives it good durability and limits the static that would make the hairs puff up.

The beard brush has denser boar bristles, ideal for shaping the beard and brushing the skin underneath, which makes for deeper beard care. It is designed for daily styling of thicker, longer beards. Its ergonomic shape makes it easy to hold and, thanks to its natural bristles, it spreads beard oils or beard balm well through the hairs.

The comb excels at precision, while the brush works on density and overall look. Both are easy to clean and keep your beard looking well groomed if you use them regularly. We advise having both tools for complete beard maintenance.

How do you choose the right beard brush for the density of your beard?

A beard brush with synthetic bristles is ideal if your beard is fine or not very dense. These bristles slide easily between sparse hairs, allowing gentle detangling without pulling any hair out. For a thick or very dense beard, favour a brush with boar bristles.

Their stiffness and density let them reach deeper, which helps spread beard oils and improves beard shaping. We recommend a brush with spaced teeth for long beards. This avoids pulling too much on the hairs and makes for more natural brushing.

For a shorter, denser beard, a compact brush with tightly packed bristles is perfect for adding volume and controlling unruly hairs. Our range includes brushes with an ergonomic shape that improves grip, making beard care more pleasant. Remember to choose a brush that is easy to look after, as a clean brush stays fresh and works better.

Thanks to these tips, you will find the ideal brush to keep your beard clean, handsome and well styled every day.

How do you clean and look after your beard brush?

Regularly removing trapped hairs and dust keeps your beard brush in excellent condition for longer. Tap the brush on the edge of the sink after each use to remove the hairs that stay caught between the boar or synthetic bristles. Use a small comb to remove dirt and residue of balm or beard oil that can build up at the base.

If your brush has lost its freshness, wash it in a bowl of lukewarm water mixed with a drop of mild soap to look after the bristles and the wood. Rub gently with your fingers or an old toothbrush, without leaving the sandalwood or horn part to soak, to stop the base getting damaged. Rinse well with clean water and dry the brush with a towel, bristles facing down, so that moisture does not linger.

Repeating this cleaning once a week keeps your brush fresh and ensures impeccable daily styling. Storing the brush in a dry place helps keep its ergonomics and durability intact, while avoiding mould. A well-kept brush smooths the hairs better, removes impurities and spreads products evenly, for more effective beard care.

If you want to go even further with beard care, we advise combining your routine with our barbershop care products to give your beard a real barber finish, right at home.
