Hair Styling Waxes

Hair styling waxes to tame your strands while keeping them supple. For every style, with an adjustable hold that rinses out easily and leaves no residue.

What is a hair styling wax and how do you use it?

Styling wax is a hair product ideal for giving a flexible hold to your hair while keeping a natural effect. It often contains ingredients such as beeswax or carnauba wax, which help structure the hairstyle without weighing the hair down. Its creamy texture lets you achieve a tousled look or a structured hairstyle, depending on the amount you apply.

To use it, take a little wax between your fingers and rub it to warm it well. Then spread it on dry or slightly damp hair, working strand by strand. You can easily adjust the shaping without creating a stiff, cardboard-like effect.

Styling wax offers a strong hold yet lets you reshape your style throughout the day, because it stays flexible. Unlike a styling pomade or clay, it does not necessarily leave a greasy finish, and it rinses out easily with water. Some waxes also contain plant oils or shea butter to nourish your hair while styling.

Which styling wax should you choose for the finish you want (matt, shiny, strong hold)?

For a tousled look with a discreet finish, opt for a wax with a matt finish. This type of styling wax gives a natural effect without shine. It gives a long-lasting hold while avoiding a glossy effect, perfect for a relaxed style.

If you prefer a smooth hairstyle with a more polished appearance, choose a wax with a glossy finish. This wax gives a very stylish wet look, ideal for well-disciplined, showcased hair. When you want a strong hold, styling paste or a high-hold pomade are the obvious choices.

They give precise shaping and a hold that lasts all day, especially for structured hairstyles. Waxes containing shea butter or plant oils moisturise the hair without weighing it down, while making styling easier. Some waxes combine emulsification and natural ingredients for a texture that suits all hair types.

Finally, favour a wax that is easy to rinse out, to avoid any build-up of residue. We offer styling waxes that combine practicality and efficiency, depending on what you want.

How do you easily remove a styling wax from your hair?

To remove a styling wax from your hair, always start by wetting your hair completely with very warm water. Warm water softens the wax, especially if it contains ingredients such as beeswax or carnauba wax. Massage your scalp and strands well so that the water gets everywhere and starts to dissolve the product.

A quick shower is not enough: you need to take the time to focus on every area where your hair still feels hard or sticky. Now take a gentle shampoo, without diluting it too much, then lather it into your still-wet hair, concentrating on the parts where the hold was strongest. Classic shampoos are sometimes ineffective on certain residues of very thick styling pomade or styling paste.

To loosen these residues, it can be useful to choose a shampoo enriched with natural degreasing agents, such as clay or aloe vera. A second wash is often needed after a long-lasting hold or a very pronounced wet look, to remove every trace of styling product. If you still have residue after two washes, apply a little plant oil before shampooing.

The oil will dissolve the wax and allow a deep clean that is gentle on the hair fibre. Leave this oil on for a few minutes and you will see the wax come away almost on its own at rinsing. This works particularly well on waxes with a creamy texture blended with natural butters.

After this treatment, your hair feels soft and supple, with no greasy sensation or heaviness.
