Care Shampoos Vichy Dercos Energy, Kérastase Genesis, Luxéol or Head & Shoulders with caffeine. Wash your scalp gently and pair with your serum.
A care shampoo washes the scalp gently, without being rough on fragile hair. It often contains ingredients such as caffeine, B vitamins, amino acids or plant extracts, as listed by each brand. It is used like an ordinary shampoo, on wet hair.
Its contact time with the skin is short, just the length of a wash. It is therefore often used to prepare the scalp before a serum, which is why we suggest it as a duo with a serum. Massaging during washing helps spread the product over the whole scalp.
Our selection brings together well-known references. The Vichy Dercos Energy shampoo is designed, according to the brand, for hair that lacks vigour. The Kérastase Genesis bath is aimed at fragile hair, and Head & Shoulders offers a formula with caffeine in its Pro-Expert range. Luxéol completes the offer with a density-focused shampoo.
These shampoos can be used regularly, often two to three times a week, or more depending on the brand. You keep them throughout the whole serum course, then you can go back to your usual shampoo. Many come in a large size, practical for lasting three months.
Start with your scalp. If it gets oily quickly, take a deep-cleansing formula, which you can use often. If it is dry or sensitive, prefer a gentle, moisturising formula, preferably sulphate-free. For dandruff, alternate with an anti-dandruff shampoo.
Also look at your lengths. Fine, sparse hair suits a density shampoo, which gives it body. Long, brittle hair calls for a formula that does not dry it out, followed by a conditioner on the ends only.
The ingredients to look out for are often caffeine, biotin, ginseng or amino acids. There is no need to pile up active products: a shampoo, a serum and, if needed, a food supplement are quite enough.
Many of these shampoos are unisex: simply read the indication on the bottle. If hair loss lasts more than three months or comes in patches, a dermatologist will be able to look for the cause. A shampoo, even a well-chosen one, is a cosmetic product and does not treat a scalp condition.
Massage the shampoo into the wet scalp, with your fingertips, without rubbing with your nails. Leave it on for one to two minutes before rinsing, as set out on the bottle. Rinse with lukewarm water, never scalding. A single wash is generally enough, unless your hair is loaded with styling products.
Squeeze your hair in a towel, without rubbing, then apply your serum parting by parting to the clean scalp. Skin free of sebum and residue is ready to receive the serum. Our hair serums stay on after the wash. Detangle with a wide-tooth comb, starting at the ends, so as not to pull on fragile hair.
Dry your hair at a medium temperature, holding the hairdryer away from the scalp. Avoid tight hairstyles during the course, as they pull on roots that are already delicate. A fabric hair tie is kinder to hair than a thin rubber band.
To complete your routine, our hair supplements are taken by mouth. This shampoo, serum and supplement trio is easy to follow over three months. All our products are brought together in the hair loss and hair growth range.
